Connor Gibbons is an alternative (pop rock/rap) artist residing in Dallas, Texas. Standing out with his own style of production and strong lyrical content that is powerful, innovative & expressive. From an early age music sealed its place in his life when his love for guitar hero and rock band exposed him to various musical instruments, forging a strong connection to music, in which playing the drums became his first endeavor.Rock music became the genre that first sparked the creative genius with influences by rock legends such as Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, and Nirvana.
Connor Gibbons connects to audiences without being confined to a specific genre- and certainly isn’t rushing to define his art.

Lorem, a Spotify playlist which launched early last year, has unexpectedly risen to become one of the most powerful opportunities for new artists to break through on the streaming platform. Lorem represents a wider music industry.Lorem is a space in today’s world dedicated to the outliers- that shows fans fresh finds, and dynamic music that just simply stands out. Lorem also represents something of an outlier in the Spotify ecosystem-While the platform’s playlists are largely confined to representing genres (“Alternative ’90s,”) or occasions (“One More Rep”), Lorem is harder to define: its tracks veer wildly between artists, genres and time periods. If anything, it seems to be grouped by a consistent theme of ethereal beats, classics and anti-controversial moods, rather than being tied to any specific style of genre. “Lorem paved the way for a different kind of thinking, when it came to how we were grouping and contextualizing music – and how people were actually listening to it”(Szabo, 2021).Lorem is a more fluctuating genre representing the future of music. Connor would fall into the category of this Lorem reflection of broader, less defined tastes of listeners. Like Lorem’s audience, many people are still trying to figure out exactly, where and what scene they fit into. Artists who have focused on breaking away into their own spaces, have redirected their attention to their individualistic music styles-which is now gaining well deserved attention. In many ways, his lyrics reflect barriers of labeling being broken, whether they were real or perceived in genres, are kind of melting away. Connor has fused these impressive Lorem skills into his songwriting. With a stack of influences from millennial genres of chillwave/rap to hip-hop/bedroom pop, and alternative post punk feels-Connor has definitely gained attention with his versatility. Music in 2023 for everybody has been a new year of new releases and opportunities even in the crevices of multi-scene genres. Today Alternative labels have been given to those who do not fit into a specific category- the outliers- these outliers are still holding success in the mainstream.The underground scene is not heavily manufactured and it seems to be easier to access raw elements. Underground artists do not appear everywhere- they have their own niche, which is a rising alternative means of publishing without practicing popular culture's quantity over quality aspects. This generation was not confined to what was playing on the radio, In this sense, it is easier for listeners to branch out into different genres and different artists. The supply of new artists with unlimited potential, more tools and disposal is larger now than any other time. The instant hits will come and go with greater speed and numbers than ever, but in the long run, the really great artists will leave a lasting mark, whether it happens overnight or not. With his influences from today's stars in the alt/hip-hop scene including Post Malone, Juice World, Lil Uzi Vert, and Poorstacy- Connor is on the road to his lasting mark. Connor’s music represents his endless potential. While also creating a sense of being an outlier gem that shows his listeners;Being the same as every other person, is not what we want in life. He unconsciously shows the skills that many wish for; being comfortable/confident and making space in this world for yourself.

His taste has hit the world at the right time with the future- the growth and freeness of the GENZ Algorithms has continued to expand his fan base on social media.He has been creating, and releasing music for well over 5 years-his talents nod towards the evidence with his ability to play multiple instruments, manage his songwriting, music, and life. Elevating his own platform- he also empowers up-and-coming artists and fans from around the globe to showcase their art. During high school he became involved as the drummer of a garage band called Civic Duty,He found that expressing himself through music felt liberating and began immersing himself deeper into his musical genius. His most recent single ‘Nothing’ was released on October 28, 2022 has been well received by the public. Nothing currently sits at 16k streams, on Spotify alone, in three months of its debut.The masterfully demonstrated creativity on his last album, ‘Show must go on’, had been able to rack up over 85k streams, in one year.
